Spring Colds, Boogie Wipes, and a Very Scrunchy Upgrade
Do you know that feeling when cold and flu season ends and you somehow made it through unscathed… only for your kids to catch a cold on your very first outing to celebrate spring?
No? Just me?
I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting sickness to hit quite this fast once the weather turned. But here we are.
I actually have a theory that my husband jinxed us. He casually mentioned we should skip our next subscription order of Boogie Wipes, and apparently that was enough for the universe to humble us immediately.
Thankfully, we do have a small stockpile.
But this cold and flu season, I made one upgrade in our house that has honestly been a game changer.
Instead of the typical manual snot sucker (which, let’s be honest, is not for the faint of heart), we switched to the NozeBot electric nasal aspirator.
And I’m not being dramatic when I say this—this thing is saving my sanity.
After getting sick one too many times using the manual version, I needed something that made life just a little easier. This is where my “scrunchy” side really shows up.
Because while I try to lean into more natural, simple, and intentional choices where I can, I am absolutely not above using a plastic, battery-powered device if it means less stress, less mess, and maybe even fewer germs coming my way.
That’s the balance for me.
Some things are homemade and slow. Some things are survival mode and whatever works.
And right now? This is working.
I’ll share more about how we handle sickness with littles another time, but if you’re heading into spring hoping to avoid the worst of it… this might be one of those things worth having on hand.
